Question about wastegate actuator

I have a question about my wastegate actuator. There's no emissions left on my car, and the duty solonoid valve is missing. Is there anywhere else I could run the wastegate actuator line, or do I need to find a duty solonoid valve?

you can run a line straight from the turbo to the wastegate, it'll only run 5.5psi (before creep...) if you hooked up the stock valve. it would be 8psi.

Alright, so just run it straight to say for instance the connecting pipe, which would cause it to open at 5.5 instead of 8? This is fine, was just wondering if it'd be bad to do this. Thanks

You can also easily creat a manual boost valve for $10 or something. Just do a search on how to make one because there are various ways. If you just hook it straight up it will work just fine, you just won't have any control over it. Always make sure to have a good boost gauge when doing things like this to make sure it does what you want it to

I don't recommend using the boost solenoid on any mildly modded car - that will turn boost creep into some bad boost spikes that can easily cost you a motor.

Just run the vacuum line straight to the actuator.

Thanks for the info Dale, I've got a Blitz boost gauge on there, so I think it should be pretty accurate, and I definatly am not in the mod to lose the engine

Hey guys, Ive got a problem, my car boosts to 9 PSi and then bleeds down to 4psi at 6000 RPM. could my stock boost selenoid be causing this? I was just reading through the thread and this is what i got out of it . If take off the boost seleniod, i will run 5.5 psi. and i should take it off because it could cause boost spikes. Am i wrong? im just kinda guessing. Anyways, how would i go about taking that seleniod off? do i have to take all the emition crap off with it? or can i just take off that single seleniod for now? i have no clue. thanks

You can just remove the one, just plug the vacuum lines together that run to it, instead of having the solenoid control it.

Iron Mountain (upper michigan) And it could be that it's faulty, you could just try to replace it instead.

Is an MBC hooked up the same in an S5 as it is in an S4? Vac line from the turbo housing into the MBC and then from the MBC to the WG.

Can it be hooked up like that?

Sorry about the ignorance in S5 TII's..
