put power steering fluid in clutch master :(
ssooooooo yaaaaa Miss read the bottle, and put power steering fluid in my clutch master and drove it around for the day....
It worked..... ok I guess..... but the pedal would come up all the way. I went home to bleed it again and thats when I noticed I put PS fluid in...
I emptied it out and put dot 3 brake fluid in, but now it doesn't seem to do anything (move any fluids) when I pump the clutch.
Do you think the PS killed the seals and what not?
I hope napa has the PS master and slave rebuild kits in stock... I doubt it... unless your clutch master and slave are somewhat universal... (used in other cars also)
Thanks

***** happens bro. At the worst, you need $100 for a new clutch master and slave. They would need replacing eventually.

Uh, yes I do know of what I speak, from screwing things up many times for decades.
After 20 years, the bores of the cylinders are scored. I know there are rebuild kits. I also know that there is a 90% chance they will be puking within a month.
Given the choice between new for $100 with 1year warranty and ******* up a rebuild, I choose peace of mind.

I'm going to try and just replace the master tomorrow morning and see if thats all that needed fixed. I have a turbo parts car, I think the masters are all the same. (I hope at least)

Ok, cool I replaced the master and tried to clean out all the PS fluid I could. Seems to be working REALLY good now. We will see if it works good in a few days still.
BTW PS fluid floats on brake fluid.
