There is a valve on the tranny that connects to your engine via a vacume line. I forget what it's called. But, when it fails, it allows tranny fluid to be sucked into your combustion chamber causing the smoke you described. Sounds like yours is starting to fail.

Easy and relatively cheap fix at most any auto tranny shop.

Not a hose fix. It's replacing the vacume valve on the tranny to fix. If I'm right, replacing it should make the smoke go away and improve the tranny's shifting.

Quick check, jack up the car, follow the hose to the tranny, then just pull the hose off. If there is tranny fluid coming out of the hose, that confirms my suspicion.

Did you pull the vacume hose to see if tranny fluid was in it?

Check the hose. Takes about 5-10 minutes. I'll bet a couple of Del Taco taco's that's your problem.

Jack it up from the front. The Vacume sensor is on the passenger side of the tranny. S/b very easy to get to. May be stubborn to pull of, but be patient and work it as it it simply pulls of.

Well, it usually isn't a very good idea to put the jack under the radiator. That was simply not paying attention.

If you have a typical hydrolic floor jack, you can slide it under the front until it lines up with the cross member just before the oil pan. It is the member the plastic underpan mounts at the rear. Best to put jack stands under your car as well for safety.

Alternative that might work. Roll your car so the passenger wheel rolls up the curb at the edge of your driveway. If you angle your car right, that should give you enough room to crawl under the passenger side to access the valve and rubber tube.

Oil gauge is for oil pressure, not oil level. You need to check the dip stick for oil level

and which buzzer is going off? There are buzzers and beepers that do multiple things.

Vacuum Modulator

If it smokes at the exhaust all of the time, replace the Vacuum Modulator. It is small vacuum diaphram that screwes into the tranny and has a vacuum hose connected to it. It senses vacuum and determines the shift points for the tranny. If the diaphram ruptures, as they often do, tranny fluid will be sucked up by the vacuum tube, injected ino the engine, and burned. When you replace the modulator be prepared to catch tranny fluid coming out of the hole.

ok so i went today and checked the vacuum modulator.

i saw prices for a new one.
its 70 at parks and 20 at adavance.

then i jacked up the car and got underneath it and i couldnt find the hose so
i got some guy from advance to help me look at it and he said that i would have to jack the car up really high. take down the exhaust and tranny and then i could change the modulator.

Vacume Modulator=Vacume Valve in laymans words.

My advise to you at this point, go to a tranny shop and let them check it and replace it if that indeed is the problem.
