Unhappy problem with my s5 TII please help

I took my tII to get inspected the other day and was told that I needed to replace the two rear wheel bearings, which I got done. The problem is that when they were replacing the bearings, the bushings that keep the wheels from wobbling (has to do with proper toe and camber I was told) broke. I drove my car home until I could find that peace, and the rear end felt very unstable, so unstable that I was scared to drive it. I contacted the Mazda dealership and was told that I cannot just replace the bushing and that I needed to replace the whole housing (which cost 400 each side). Can anyone help me with this? Is there anything else I can do besides replace the whole housing?

thanks

Also, does anyone know what the actual name of this part is, and if I could use one off of any fc or do I need one from a tII.

You can find all that in the Factory Service Manual, free on-line at http://www.fc3s.org/how_tos/manuals/89_fsm.html

First you need a shop that can change a bearing without tearing up your car..

You might post a question on the NE forum for recommended RX-7 mechanics in your area.

I really didn't think that I needed to go to an rx-7 mechanic since it had nothing to do with the engine.

I'm pretty sure you need the toe bushings. they will rip apart when you remove the rear hubs. mine did. luckly I was taking them off to replace those bushings

take a look at this. mazdatrix sells them to

Thanks a lot Scott, that should be what I need. Now the only thing I want to know is which ones should I buy (Mazdatrix or RB).

How could they possibly break the toe control bushing while pressing the hubs/bearing in and out? They are on the forward "arm" of the hub. Shouldn't be touched.
The problem with installation of toe control bushings, is, that they need to be pressed in after the old are pressed out, so units need to be removed again.
I'd check into what the "mechanics" did to screw them up, as long as you didn't have the problem/wobble before.

I did not have this problem before they did the bearing work.

I just did 89TII a short time ago. Bushings were fine, just replaced bearings. Should not damaged toe control bushings. If toe control bushings (if that's what is actually wrong) were worn, or damaged, they should have not replaced the rear wheel bearings and did a re- install without contacting you first.
