Problem after changing water pump

Hi,

I just changed my water pump a couple of weeks ago on my 91 vert. Everything is back together and no leaks...thankfully.

But, I seem to have another problem. My 7 seems to be flooding and I can't figure out why. Is it possible that the ECU thinks the car is cold all the time and is choking it. I really don't understand the whole warm up part anyway. That's the only thing I can think of. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance,

Rob

Did you reconnect the water temperature sensor on the back of the water pump? Alternately, could the one in the pump you swapped in be bad?

How many miles on the engine & body? Fuel injectors may be bleeding off fuel pressure with the car off and flooding the engine. Very typical on higher mileage cars. I need to send several sets of injectors off myself for rebuild & blueprinting.

There are probably local places close to you, but you can send them off to:

On the internet:
www.witchhunter.com
www.rceng.com
www.cruzinperformance.com

Read this thread:

Some exerps:

Static Flow

After ------- 114 / 115 / 114.5 / 115

Pulsed Flow

After ------- 122.5 / 122 / 121.5 / 122.5

Notice the flow differance on the last two numbers "before" the cleaning (last 2 numbers are for the secondary injectors). That right there is why you need to send these things off to have them professionaly cleaned. That flow differance could easily create a lean condition and be damaging to the engine (especially turbo engines). Mine NA blew the rear rotor with the poor flowing injectors...

the only thing is, this just started without warning. I know that something mechanical usually goes over time. I had no problems starting the car last week.

wait. Is there a tem sensor on the 87 N/A model? and if so, would it cause the car not to turn over if it was unplugged? I just changed my water pump, and now my car will not even turn over. i think it is the starter, but it started fine before i changed the water pump, then afterwards the car woudlnt crank... coincidence?

I don't know. I plugged the sensor back in. I don't see anything I missed. Does it matter that I had to take off the smog pump? I put that back on okay. I just don't know what I'm missing here.

And btw how I didn't know injectors could be rebuilt???
