premix q's (ive searched)

hi, i have a few questions about using premix on my s5, i searched and didn't really find what i was looking for, i want to know how much 2 stroke oil i had to put when i fill up the tank. im going the premix way since my car is not my dd and because ive heard that it lubricates much better than the omp. my car is been down for about 4 months since i started removing and doing some upgrades so i decided to go premix too.

thanks

I think the general consensus is about half a bottle or premix per fill-up. Don't quote me on that (never done it), but that's what i *THINK* it is.

Is 1/100 by weight? Because by volume 1oz to the gallon (which is what I use) is 1/128.

it's by volume. Weight would be an entirely diferent story. (and probably too complicated to figure out on the fly)

I use 150:1 for street use, 128:1 for track use. Seems to work quite well (this is with no OMP)

Thats WAY too much. 1:128 (1 oz. per gallon) is the recommended level, which is adequate for anything you would ever see on a street (and probably for racing as well.) Assuming you fill up 16 gallons at a time, a quart per fill-up is double that, or 2 oz. per gallon. That is total overkill.

half a quart will do for no OMP.

my tuner told me to run 3 oz. w/ OMP, if I wanted to go pre-mix.

Most people I know use 1:100 by volume

I don't really measure it out accurately, I have a long necked bottle which holds about 600ml. If I fill up completely from empty i'll put the entire 600ml in. (about 1:120)

If i'm topping up the tank i'll just estimate based off the litres put in.

Not sure if it's entirely necessary but after a full top up I make sure to slosh the tank around a bit after leaving the station.

Ideally i'd love to get the Rotary Aviation remote oil canister hooked up to the S4 mechanical OMP.. but it's virtually impossible to get in contact with them from Australia.
