Buy pre-mix - I like Valvoline "Multi-Use" pre-mix in the dark blue bottle available at most auto parts stores - I know Kragen / Schucks / Checkers carries it.
This would help a lot - get a funnel to insert into your gas tank filler - Wal*Mart carries a nice one for like $1.50.
Pour the appropriate amount of premix before you fill your gas - 16 oz. or half a quart is good for most FC's.
Top the tank off with gasoline.
It would help to drain the gas tank to under 1 / 4 tank everytime you do this to get a consistent ratio.

Most people run around 100:1 ratio (gas to oil). I wouldn't go much higher than 125:1, and under 75:1 would be excessive. Look in the 2nd Gen archives, theres an entire thread on premix. The title is something along the lines of "to premix or not"

How about the general logistics of it? How do you personally (anyone) carry premix, and measure it each time? I bought a large jug of TCW-3 oil from a marine supply store that I use.

I used to use this small 8 oz. pennzoil bottles, and just refilled them, but they would always leak and make a mess. Is there an easy way to carry a useful amount of oil in a refillable, measurable (see through the sides perhaps) container, that won't leak? Where could I find such a thing?

I use small bottles from other oils. Such as a 16oz. bottle of Penzoil 2-Stroke. It has a see through side and resealable top.

To keep my fuel flapper open, I stick a screwdriver in it. Ghetto... but it works.

I usually buy the Valvoline Multi-Use pre-mix in the gallon jug.
I have a quart bottle of the same stuff that I use to measure.
Although it's a quart bottle, it has that translucent side stripe that you can tell the fluid level - I just empty half of the bottle each fill-up.
I also have one of those $1.50 funnels from Wal-Mart - keeps the mess down to a minimum.

Open gas cap, insert funnel, pour pre-mix.
Carefully squirt gasoline from nozzle to wash the funnel down - remove funnel.
Top off tank.

If I need to fill the quart bottle with the gallon jog, I use the same funnel.

I guess I just need to find a bottle that seals better, I like the translucent side on the oil bottles.

I also carry a roll of paper towels in one of my storage bins, it really helps when you're trying to stay clean. Handy for other things on the road as well; I like to keep my glass clean.

Yep, I keep a rag to keep the funnel clean and to keep any drips off the car.
