Powersteering ?

I really confused now...
Which is better the Speed sensitive ps or the RPM sensitive ps....I been seeing mixed answers...

Need some hardcore proof now to be convinced!!!

PS...
1.....Is the powersteering pump different between the two types or just the computer..or is the computer the same..
2.can a S5 pump be used on an S4 AND made to work using the wires. RE is I have an S5 pump.
3. Is the PS computer integrated into the Cruise computer box...ie the same computer!

Thanks

No pump is best.
If you install a manual steering rack, you save 60lbs and gives a much tighter turning radius (15:1 vs 20:1).
Not to mention how much cleaner and simpler for working on your engine bay is. More reliable too.

To give you an idea of how hard it is to steer, the "difficulty" is between having properly working power steering and power steering with no belt on it.
Not difficult at all!

yes the pump and computer is different between the two types and in addition also between the two series.

2.can a S5 pump be used on an S4 AND made to work using the wires. Reason asking is I have an S5 pump.
Only if the S5 pump was for the T2.

3. Is the PS computer integrated into the Cruise computer box...ie the same computer!
No it is its own dedicated "box" and not integrated with the cruise control.

The S5 NA cars used engine speed sensing variable boost, only the S5 T2 used vehicle speed sensing boost (which is much more linear). All the S4 cars with power steering also used vehicle speed sensing.

So if you used a power steering pump from a S5 NA it would be for use with a RPM sensing system.

Power steering computer is bolted up just behind the drivers dash speaker location.

They are all pre-wired for power steering except some 87 model year T2s.
