Question Power Steering question.....

Power Steering works great when it's cold, as it warms up it stops working as well (get's harder to turn the wheel). I've added some Morey's (sp??) Oil stabilizer, it's thick like honey, and it seems to work better when it's warmed up but still not as good as when it's cold. Is my pump just getting worn out?

Gotta be the pump, what else is there that would be affected by temperatures? Unless maybe the racks seals going out, being affected more by the thinner fluid when warm...

Any leaks?

BTW, I thoroughly enjoy my totally manual, no fluid whatsoever ex-power rack

So you guys who run no pump on the PS/rack can still turn it good? Guess it makes a difference when you cap the rack as opposed to having some pressure on it with the pump?
No leaks at all.

Easy to turn once you start from a roll or after 5mph.

Grippy tires + no power steering = Slower auto-x times

At least for me, thats how it was. I'm keeping PS in mines.

To bring this thread back from the dead, did anyone find a solution to this problem OTHER then removing the power steering?

I have the exact same problem:

When the car is COLD the power steering works perfect.
When the car is run for longer then 30 min, the power steering doesnt work anymore.

Things I have replaced:
1. Power steering pumps, I have swapped them 3 times with used ones. No difference.
2. P/S ECU behind the drivers speaker twice. No difference.
3. I resoldered the solder joints in the the P/S ECU thinking maybe its just having a bad day.

I have no leaks what so ever with the lines either. Any thoughts?
