I think they had a 4 seater rex, jus there were 2 small seats in the spot where you would have the storage bins..

yes and its very easy. I have a friend that did that to his AE. You can find one at a pick ur parts for less than 50 bucks. Just make sure you get all the necessary hardwares. One problem with the seat though is its tight and more of a child seat.

Yes, it can be done but why? It's not like you can start driving all of your friends around if you buy the backseat. IMO the bins are more useful, and i think they make the hatch area look a little cleaner.

Hehe, try finding a leather seat. I've been looking for years and havn't found a good condition black leather seat for a decent price. The ones I have found are waaay too much. A cloth back seat just wouldn't look right with my black leather buckets.

I had a 2+2, the seats are very tight, but it's good to be able to use in a pinch.
I have had 5 people a few times in my car though, (icl driver) without the back seat! Just laying down on the storage bins, and in the hatch.

Dude I got a back seat. I added one to my GXL.
I think they are dope, I usually have mine folded down
with a blanket over the whole area, but you can store important stuff under the seat when its down, and you can put people back there, I personally have a three
person limit in my car, unless the forth person is a really
hot chic. If you do find one, like it was said above, get
every thing, I have custom strikers if i wanted the mazda ones they are around 60+ bucks each, and the seat belts are insanely high. later Matt22

Yes, very possible. In fact, I had It the other way around.

I found mint TII Black Interior that didn't have the rear seats. Originally, I had 4 Blue Leather seats.

I think converting it to a 2+2 adds a lot of weight, I dont like driving a lot of people around anyway, they have cars

No way that seat weighs 45 lbs.
I know the bottom piece is at max like 6 lbs
and the upright piece is alot heavier but
not no 39lbs. maybe at most 20lbs.

Yeah my RX-7 has a back seat and the only people I let use it are hot chicks.

I want to get rid of it, I'd much rather have storage bins!
