2+2 to 2 seater?

I am thinking of swaping my rear seats for storage bins.

I am presently fitting a cage etc and am going to get rid of them anyway but just to keep it all as much as possable as Mazda Intended i would like to fit storage bins.

This brings me to my problem, being in the Uk 2 seaters are very rare, to date i dont think i've seen one close up.

What exactly would i need to swap over, did they make 2 seaters with Black Carpets? and are the carpets one peice from the Ft bulkhead to the rear or are they in sections?

My car is a 1990 Rx7 T2 if that makes any diffrence.

Cheers

Chris

You'll need the storage bin frame, which bolts onto the car and which the storage bins are screwed onto. And you'll need the storage bins (obviously.) The carpet is one piece for the rear (lower part of storage bin all the way to the back.) Then there's a little center trim that screws into place just a few inches behind the storage bins to hold down the carpet.

Black 2 seater carpets shouldn't be too hard to find for S5's. I think the only black interior S4 was the 10th anniversary but I'm not sure. If you have trouble finding black rear carpet, Victoria British offers carpet sets.

Easy swap, just go to your local junkyard and pull the frame for the bins and then find someone who has your carpet/storage bin color

He is in the UK, and stated that 2 seaters are very rare...So he cant just go to the junkyard and pull it out...

Yep, Here in the Uk we do have an advantage that all the Drop tops are Turbo's but other than that the range is C**p.

We have Na's with very few optional extras and T2's that came Drop top or Coupe and thats your lot. No GTU's or 10th anniversary models etc.

I also needed to know if the carpet went to the Ft bulkhead as i have a RHD car and dont know if there would be any changes.

So this is why i am asking what exactly i need so i can get it shipped over.

Cheers

I dont need weight reduction! i dont have any emitions etc to worrie about so i am going with the full blown P/P triple, so a few pounds here and there aint a problem (i'd rather make it look nice.

The rear hatch/storage bin carpet don't go all the way to the front bulkhead.

Oh yeah, don't have side panel pics but everything (whether 2+2 seats or storage bins) have the same trunk floor.

I've dug up this thread in the hope that someone can help me. I'm in the middle of swapping out my rear seats for the storage bins, i have the structures which the bins fit into but i think i need different side panels aswell. I've been searching for pics of the rear storage bins and side panels but can't find any detailed ones. If anyone has any it would be a great help. Thanks.

The side panels are correct. It does not look right, but it is. You just need to get the carpet that goes with the bins. it covers up the gap between the plastic piece and the side panels.
