possible to install knock sensor on n/a ?
i was considering turboing my n/a within the next year, is there a way to install a knock sensor on my na so i can better tune to know when its going to knock/ is knocking
i saw the safc has built in knock sensor, but i dont know if this sensor would work on an n/a ?

The SAFC knock sensor just ties into the stock knock sensor. If you don't have a knock sensor on the car, it ignores the input.
I don't think there's any reason why you couldn't install one - it should just bolt right up.

From what I have been told it is only a knock counter on the SAFC and it is kinda useless. The stock knock sensor threads into the front rotor housing. I'm not sure if NAs had this hole on the engine.

well that sucks, i would think youd want a knock sensor if you turboed an na engine, im hoping to turbo mine at like 7-10 psi and get like 220-250 whp, im not sure how much it would want to boost since its streetported... but i wont be doing this for a while

You don't seem to be understanding. The problem is your N/A ecu that can't do anything with a knock sensor. A standalone on the other hand, CAN. And since you wire it yourself , you just wire up the knock sensor and be done.

You don't need a knock sensor anyway. It's way too slow to respond, and by the time it does, the damage is being done.
Proper tuning is, as always, the key. 8 PSI or so on and NA engine is easy. Stock ECU, S-AFC, bigger injectors. When you want to make more power, then you need to look into the standalone. And this is AFTER you have read "EFI Tuning For Dummies" as I have already told you at least 5 times...
DO NOT CONTINUE WITH THIS PROJECT UNLESS YOU WANT TO PAY FOR ANOTHER REBUILD.
