porting wastegate??? searched...
Im pulling the motor out of my 10th AE, and its going to be out for a while because i have to make money to replace every gasket for switching all the externals to a jspec motor.
I have heard about porting the wastegate and i have a couple questions...
First of all, i dont even know where it is or what it looks like.
Second, how is it done? What does it take to do it?
And finally, what are the good/bad effects of porting it other than higher boost levels?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

There are writeups in the archives. Please check them out.
As for location? Its integrated into the turbo turbine housing. You can remove the housing by removing the bolts that hold it onto the center piece. Also remove the back part of the housing where the DP connects to and you can see the 15mm flap. It won't make a difference unless you have an upgraded exhaust btw.
There is no bad to a ported wastegate that I can see with these cars. It *might* create more turbulance, but really, I doubt you'd notice it.
Also it will not give you higher boost levels, it CONTROLS boost levels more efficiently doing the mod.
It sounds to me like you don't understand how the turbo exactly works, before you do anything search in the single turbo section for
"how wastegate works"
I made a post a while back that had some people explain it pretty good.
