depends if this has been off before, some people dont rely on gaskets alone and smother the faces with sealant, it could just be glued together dependant on what they use. I never actually took mine of but i did replace the entire oil tubes with some I made, some were very hard and brittle and one even had a hole in it due to some incorrect routing and was fretting.

so just to confirm.. ive taken off all the necessary bits for the omp to come off??
can i just try tug it off now?

also.. not sure if this is a stupid question or not.. i got a 2nd hand ecu. Its a RE Amemiya redom standard ecu. So i was wondering will this ecu still go into limp mode due to a disconnected OMP?

thanks in advance

I'd take a large hammer and chisel to it. Hit it hard and pry it off. Or maybe remove the bolt on the bottom also. One or the other.

a standard ecu will go into limp mode no matter what just leave the omp pluged in and tuck it away somewhere and ziptie it

where abouts is the bolt on the bottom. Is it closer towards the fan or the engine?

it's towards the engine, it's there, use them fingers and follow the OMP back until you feel it!

Ah, man. Your going to undo the bolt instead of using the chisel and hammer. Your no fun at all.

I have NEVER seen a series five OMP in real life. I just looked in the LUBRICATION section of the FSM and saw a picture that showed two bolts on top and one on the bottom. Towards the engine side.

I recommend buying a inspection mirror at the auto store and LED Flashlight so you can see it.

Well, if he was removing the system, then chisel away! lol.
You may have to get under the car to get to it, I had to jack up the front end to comfortably/ more easily get access to the bolt, it is a giant pain to get to, but it is there!

thanks for the replies guys..

I got the OMP off. It was 3 bolts. 2 on top, 1 on the bottom. I ended up taking everything in that corner of the engine bay off just to get to that bolt.

the FSM actually only showed one bolt connecting the OMP to the engine. That is why i asked here on the forum.

I looked in the series five Lubrication section, page D-9. I blew the view up with Acrobat and it showed me three holes in the pump. Two upper, one lower. Just FYI.
