Playing with my 7 - 1 idea - misc stuff...
I've been thinking of rescuing a nice 1st gen (think it's GSL-SE) without a motor and putting the turbo II of my rx- 7 turbo in it. Would that be cool? Then I repair the bad metal on my '86 and rebuild the motor and have it as a runner. Maybe sell it and make a few bucks?(86)
OK, my TII does NOT have AAS, just the control panel but not the shocks.
My "GXL" has it.
My "GXL" has four-lug rotors.
My TII has big discs and five-lugs

Ignore the AAS.. It's a joke. It does NOT work now, after 15 years, and if you really want a "sporty" suspension, you should just get some good aftermarket struts and springs...
And..uh...All GXL's came with 5-lug rotors and 4-piston brakes/big discs up front. Of course, it's entirely possible that someone did an ole' swaparroo on your GXL with a 4-lug model, or maybe it's not a GXL at all..

That would be a great swap... IF your TII has rust/collision damage that makes it less than practical to repair. I wouldn't butcher a perfectly good TII to do the swap... but one that was mechanically ok but the body was bad would be a donor in about half a heartbeat.

The TII has an easy repairable (busted nose, right headlamp cover, right fender) but I can't register it. (no title) So basically I either rip apart the TII and put it's parts onto my '86 or onto my possible '84.
Ack tough choices. I guess then it comes down to which body style do you want to have for the next year or however long you keep your car. Personally, since you can't put the TII on the road (no title and all) I would get the GSL-SE.
1984 & '85 GSL-SE 2512 lbs
your TII maybe around 2800-3000 lbs
But if your crazy like me, then you'd want to get a GS model and swap the hubs, diff, motor, tranny, etc etc...the GS model weighs in at 2450. Strip it down and try to get it to 2200. That would be nice.
