it seems that a lot of fiberglass shops must get hit by fires, cause every older model part I find for my s10 is out of stock permanently due to a mold fire

check impact parts in glen wilde NY...they advertise a LOT in sport compact car/turbo mag or you can just do a search for them bc I know they have a website. Ask for "Rich" and tell him you were referred by Jon @ Z-1 Performance Inc. He has a lot of old Kamanari stuff sitting in dusty old boxes from the '80s, you'd probably get a sweet price!!

Ryde or Dye,

Yeah they list them, but they can't get them I tried rtautosports, but same story. We don't stock them, we request them.

Kaminari says $7000 to re-make the mold. I have no clue how many they'd have to sell to break even, but they are willing to do it if someone will front the cash.

What's pissing me off is there fire happened 2 years ago, but 8 different websites list the 1st & 2nd gen kits as available.

And the other cheap kits suck (mazdaspeed, eurobini, mazdatrix, etc..)

Update. The "full kit" went for $850 (nose, side skirts, rear skirt, spoiler), so I'm assuming 10 kits would be a minimum.

Would 10 people be interested in a kit for $850. This includes the front nose overlay (ie it bolts onto the nose and DOES work with the fog lamps), beefy side skirts, rear bumper skirt (very nice), and spoiler.

You'd need a 89-91 S5 car though. Just let me know. Otherwise I'll probably just buy another brand.

I had the KAMINARI bumper for 86-88 but sold it to MikeL at the teamfc3s forum..If you want something similar i think he will be making a mold and will be producing it. Pls contact him for more info. He is a busy man so dont expect for it to be produced soon..The fit is perfect on my 87TII and it wasnt too aggresive either..

thanks, bu the bumper overlay is different for the 86-88 kit. If someone had the 89-91 version, that would probably be easy to copy.

You don't like the Mazdaspeed front spoiler? I think it's the only thing I'm gonna put on my car that's "drastic". I've got a strange respect for the original look of a 7, my first one of any generation must remain near stock (outwardly). I'm gonna use the corksport side skirts (they're the closest thing I can get that will look good with the front spoiler, and they are designed very much like the aero kit that helps reduce CoD to .29 and rear lift to .07 as well as front lift to .08), the rear will most likely remain stock (a touch up is due though), and the wing will be from the sport kit (the CoD .29 sport kit). Other than that I'm not gonna really do anything to the outward appearance of the car, except maybe a vent for fresh air to enter and hot air to exit the engine. I do like the Kaminari kit alot though it's the only one that really looks close to stock.

the kit for the 86-88 was different for the 89-91 but only in the front and the rear...sides remained the same. the rear has a muffler bubble which the muffler tips can go through, and also the front had a deeper lip with the radiator/center portion hallowed out instead of having a slotted vent look like the 86-88s. i have owned ones set of the 86-88 and 2 sets of the 89-91, they are the best kits ive seen on a RX-7 compared to what is out there that doesnt cost more than 1k. i am currently putting one on my 90 vert, and the other one i sold to a friend with a 91 coupe. if he is interested in selling i will let you know. but as for me, this sucker is staying on my vert.

I'm wishing Kaminari would just make the kits again.

The Ebunie (sp??) kit that similar in price sucks if you ask me.

I guess I will just end up going with the Bomex one since you say this one is so difficult to get ahold of.

I had the rear bumper on my car. Threw it away though cause the fiberglass arch below the exhasut kept getting scrathed up and eventually broke.

I really liked the way it looked though, and would definitally go with another one.

I believe Corksport will make copies if we can get the full kit together. I know of a vendor who has the sideskirts & spoiler in stock. We just need the front nose overlay & rear bumperskirt.
