Performance Upgrades

I was wondering what stage 2 performance upgrades I could do to my NA 13b. Everything is stock. I will include what I want to upgrade and price limit. Coil overs $1000, Wheels $2000, Clutch $500, flywheel 500$, turbo kit for NA (if there is any) $3500 (if there is no turbo kits for NA then I will just swap engine for a rotary with turbos). New performance ECU (no clue what pricing is for this), New exhaust $1500, fuel pump $1000, fuel injectors, roll cage, longer control arms, sway bars, and anything else to support more power, and create more power(I left out some prices on purpose I know, I'm not sure what I want to pay for these). I just got my first project car and I have tons of plans for it but unfortunately i do not know much about rotarys or working on cars so I need as much help as I can get. Thank y'all, and if any of y'all live in central Texas area and could help please send me a message.

Stage 2 of what?

Clutch $500, flywheel 500$,
There is no point changing the clutch on nearly any NA built as the stock clutch can hold about 250HP/200 ft-lbs very reliably. Unless you do something radical to the engine like a full bridgeport, peripheral port or nitrous, you're not going to reach that limit.

Unless you are continually running at high RPM in a situation where you need immediate responsive RPM changes during transitions and need to remove as much parasitic drag as you can, switching to an upgraded light flywheel is just going to make the car slower in street driving.

There is not.

New performance ECU (no clue what pricing is for this),
Haltech, Adaptronic, Microtech, Megasquirt. Keep in mind that an ECU upgrade is a BIG step so you are going to have to weigh the benefits (new harness, better fuel economy, power gain) on an NA application with the cost and time of not only the ECU, but the supporting hardware and tuning.

New exhaust $1500,
Racing Beat.

fuel pump $1000, fuel injectors,
You don't need any of that on an NA.

OK, as this is your first project it is best to start with clear goals.

So, how much power do you want to make?
What is the use for this car? As in street? Track? And be honest, if the car is going to see the track, realistically how often?
If you don't know much about working on cars or rotary, start with simple projects. For example, fix everything that will be wrong with the car when you buy it.

  • OEM Replacement clutch is more than enough.
  • A lighter flywheel doesn't hurt but you will need an automatic rear counterweight to compensate the assembly.
  • Racingbeat has bolt on exhaust systems for the NA FC. No nonsense with the installation. Everything is made to fit and perform.
  • Suspension: Up to you and what you are trying to do with the car. I recommend Energy Poly Bushings.
  • Roll Cage: Autopower or custom depends on how deep your wallet is.

If this is your first project car I suggest you just get it running. Learn the car and slowly start upgrading it. I recommend refreshing the car. A properly maintained stock FC is a really fun car to drive. I believe there is a thread on what to do to an FC when you first buy one.
  • Replace the fluids
  • Replace belts
  • Replace Vacuum Lines and Fuel Hoses
  • New Fuel Pump and Fuel Filter
  • If you still have the OEM oil cooler lines replace those ASAP! (Racingbeat has a SS oil cooler line)
  • New Radiator, New Water Pump and Thermostat. New Hoses
  • New Motor and Tranny Mounts
  • Tires, Brakes, Pads, SS Brake Lines
