CA Want Horsepower

Ok so I have a 1988 TII. it has 81k on it and the motor seems to run great. (except it needs a new fuel pump since its bogging) so i seriously want some good horsepower. I've really put thought of throwing a twin turbo engine in there and i'm not sure if thats the right step. I think that would make a great combo since its lots of horsepower with no weight. so far i've only done 3 inch straight pipe all the way to the turbo, HKS BOV, NGK spark plugs and spark plug wires and that's pretty much it. but i want some great horsepower gains. i'm part of this little friends group and i want to be able to beat all of them. (300z NA supra MK3 NA 240sx NA) they all think i have the slowest car but i'm sure i don't and i wanna throw it in their faces.. so i want to make some big changes

Help would be greatly appreciated
oh and keep in mind, i'm only 16 haha but i find my way to money.

With your turbo back exhaust you ARE running at least some sort of piggyback for your ECU right?

The only contender in the above cars you listed (300z NA supra MK3 NA 240sx NA) should be the 300Z, correct? The Supra should have a little over 200hp, but tons of weight. The 240sx should be light but has no guts. Unless those are modded at all, you and your turboback exhaust should do just fine in keeping up at least.

The price for that porting job looks right, assuming you go ahead and throw in new seals and springs (rebuild kit) while you have the engine apart. I paid about $3,400 for mine, but I also tossed in silicon vacuum lines, new oil lines, etc. that drove up the price a little.

Tab Tuesdays? No I don't, I don't even know what that is. But oddly, I am in West Covina all the time. A 600rpm idle is great. How bad does your idle fluctuate when its cold?

Sounds to me like the accelerated warm up. RX-7s are supposed to do that when they're cold, and as they warm up, drop down to a more "normal idle".

Hey man another thing you could b looking into would be a methenol injection Kit. You can get em from AEM on e-bay fo roughly 500 bucks. My friend with a TII car ran it and it allowed hi to rum more boost. It also allows you to get the kind of performance out of pump gs as if u where runing high octane. The meth also reduces intake and exhaust gas temps. It is a really good upgrade and it doesnt cost too much ither... Here is som reading info on the AEM site: http://www.aempower.com/ViewCategory...CategoryID=120
Good luck with trying to beat ur pals, sunds like a good race!!!

Sorry i forgot to include in my prev. post, an FMIC would help a bit and also if you dont have a huge cash flow, possibly look into rebuilding your stock turbo as opposed to changing it.

And ALL supporting mods. If you're gonna do it, you gotta jump in with both feet.

Red face

Absolutely. There are a ton of things you can do. Also i didnt notice you said you wanted alot of HP, if you know someone who knows how, you could look into getting say a megasquirt or even if you are really ambitious you could go full standalone. The possiblity's are endless it all depends on money time and effort.

SAFC, FMIC, equal length tubular turbo manifold, MSD ignition, high flow intake manifold, bigger injectors, bigger turbo.... just to name a few.
