Passenger Window Problems

Ok this, to me sounds like a window motor problem, but here it goes. My passenger side window will roll down with both driver and passenger switches. It will NOT roll up with the passenger switch and rolls up very slowly with the driver side switch. Bad motor? Bad wiring? Bad switch? Any help would be good. Probably not a hard problem to fix, just need to know what to check and what to look for.

Thanks in advance!

Aaron

i had similar problems and it was always the switch but it sounds like your motor is starting 2 go 2

Take the passenger side panel off and run 12 volts right to the motor and see how it works, maybe you just need to clean your switches. These motors are no ball of fire by the way

I had the same problem and fixed it by taking apart the switch to clean the contacts. Haven't had a problem since.

You probably just need to clean your switches (which is very easy to do). just take it apart and with a small piece of sandpaper go over the metal pieces. if its the switch, there might be a buildup of this black junk where the pieces of metal touch. scrape that off and your good to go. hopefully

Dirty contacts on a 14 year old car.

Most common is the passengers lock out switch on he drivers door if the drivers switch still works it.

Another reason for this problem is a dirty window regulator or glass guides. This puts more stress on the motor and draws more current to the circuit. This burns out motors and switches. It's a good idea to tear apart the door and clean everything before replacing electrical gear.

clean everything before replacing electrical gear.

and coat the guide channels with a fresh coat of lithium grease before re-installing
