The header it's self does not control the six ports.

If you have an s4, it is controlled by exhaust gas velocity via the pipe that connects from the catalytic converter to the engine. If you do have an s4, make sure you still have this pipe connected or the ports will not open up.

On an s5 the 5th and 6th ports are controlled by the airpump. Therefore if you remove the pipe that goes to the cat for some reason, the ports will still open up UNLESS you have removed the airpump.

Hope this helps.

Let us know how those headers work out for you.

you have a s5 so either or doesn't matter. pacesetter is cheaper and like a 1hp difference and no need for a presilencer, because it goes straight to the cat. (which will leak, because its a lot bigger)

I have an 87, na, s4, 6port, and I am doing a full exhaust up grade... Racing beat mufflers, stock y pipe, hmm testpipe/ presilencer, but would love to buy the racing beat headers, but after the $480 on mufflers I'm broke. So, does anyone know where I can find a legit cheap header? Those ebay ones good?

please help a noob!

Once again I'm writing on this thread... Is the pacesetter header, or the obx header the same length as the racing beat header?

No one wants to answer you because this isnt your thread and you clearly didnt search.

If you would have searched you would have found out the OBX is a direct bolt on to the stock catalytic. The racing beat isnt. Why do do you need it to be the same length as the racing beat anyways? Its not like you bought the RB setup from the pre-silencer back. Not to mention if you want more horsepower find an RB y-pipe too. The test pipe is just a catylitic converter replacement. no difference in size just the guts

I think I have an OBX - I got it used so im not 100%, but it looks just like the OBX and is stainless. It has thick, flat flanges and does not leak. It bolted right up to the stock main cat, which is convienient.

For the record I never said this was my thread. Oh yeah, you have no clue what you're talking about because I just call racing beat, and they said that all their parts are the same size of the oem. Same as to the obx, and pace setter. So, do everyone a favor, and get your facts right before you criticize someones ability to do some research.

The Racing beat header will not bolt directly to the stock catback. There will be a gap in between the two.

NO they arent. Stock exhaust size is 2 inch from every site ive looked on. Racing Beat exhaust is 2.5 inch on the y pipe. 2 inch going into the mufflers and 3 inch exits.

Also if they were the same then you wouldnt need the presilencer(as stated above) or an adapter to make the RB header fit. OBX bolts on as does the Pacesetter.

Oh yes and here is the link to RB's Y-pipe that isnt the same as stock unless ur car is a TII which its not.

I was just stating that the obx, and the pace setter fit up to the stock cat just like racing beat. May have been unclear about size, I meant length. We are completely off topic.
