overflow tank keeps leaking!

What would cause an overflow tank to leak out of the outlet tube??? After I run the engine for a while (from 15min - ???) when I turn the engine off the car just trickles coolant until its gathered a large puddle under the car. What would cause this? It's starting to get on me nerves

The line on my car that runs between the tank and the radiator (or wherever it ends up) rubbed against one of my belts and has a big cut in it. Maybe yours is the same.

If you don't have any leaks then it sounds like the radiator cap is not drawing coolant back into the radiator when the car cools. Every time it gets hot it expels coolant out due to expansion but doesn't pull it back in during cooling vacum. Replace radiator cap with OEM not cheap one from AutoZone.

would that cause it to leak??? I looked in the tank just now and there is nothing in it but my radiator is filled to the top. I'll buy two radiator caps from mazda to make sure thats not it but I don't know.

hey posts don't mean a thing, even I say that The reason why I'm asking this question is because I've gotten new caps before and it didn't fix anything.

How long before? It doesn't make sense if the rad is full and the tank is empty unless you have a leak. Car gets hot, coolant expands, coolant goes to overflow tank, car cools and coolant is drawn back in. Check your hoses and tank if no leak bad cap. Unless your seals are bad and it's coming out the back?

no I see it on the ground in front of the engine bay comming from the over flow tank. I'm going to switch with mazda ones like you said because I changed them with some vented ones from autozone.

Don't expect a lot of things in stock. When it comes to RX7.. most stuff is special order.. but I usually get stuff in 2 days. I highly doubt they have that overflow cap.
