One Loud Click

I've got an '87 T2. Today I forgot the headlights on and the battery died. Got jumped off and it started like a champ. Drive for about 20mins or so, maybe longer and stop and go the grocery store. Hope in the car and turn it on and all I get is one loud click. Battery voltage is good, tried jumping it as well. Everything results in just one loud click. Any ideas besides the starter being seized?

If it's the antitheft would it still have the loud click?

battery voltage reads ok....but doesnt have enough juice to crank the starter over.

A quick test is to turn your lights on.....turn the key and watch them dim. If they do its battery related.......if they dont, its a connection.

Hey hey you're in GA too. Did you try to push it through the grocery store's parking lot and try kick it off? I'd give the starter a whack to see if it's seized or there's a loose conection in it. Then go from there troubleshooting to check if it's getting current and what not.

Well I went back out and found I had left the keys in the ON position so the battery was completely dead again.

Hooked up ye ol cables and she started right up.

Got home, plugged up the trickle charger my Dad's letting me borrow to the positive terminal and the alternator like I always do and got amperage as soon as I connected it.

Brett: I'm also in Oakwood, I just say Atl bc people actually know where that is out of state.

I think the FC has the LEAST annoying "key in ignition" tone
its too relaxed, sorta like

"bing... hey you're keys are in man... bing... maybe you should take them out... bing.. or not... bing... it's whatever... bing.."
