OMP oil supply?
i saw the idea in the intercooler thread on this page. To put two-stroke oil in a seperate container and have the OMP inject that oil. i am not familiar to how the system works, but could you just block off the oil lines, and run a line from a container to the oil injectors? i think i would like to do this if it is as easy as it sounds.

There is (or was, last time I checked) a kit for sale for about $80-$90 that has everything needed to make what you are talking about. I'll try to see if I can find it but I'm at work and the firewall/filter system here limits my web searches.

I almost bought one but got interested in Patmans idea about the original omp. Let's see now. Eighty bucks for a real fine product from Rotary Aviation........or a .188 drill bit and cutting a piece of pipe off a old vacuum rack for no cost at all, to put on the existing pump. Since I had the .188 drill bit and a old vacuum rack pipe the cost was minimal/zip, to do the Pattman arrangement of the omp.
Rotary Aviation doen not supply a oil tank with their real good pump adapter so in either case you have to make your own tank/reservoir and decide where to install it. I still have not decided. I'm still using the bottle that the pre mix fluid came in with a hole drilled in its top for the feed hose to get to the oil. Got it crammed in below the wiper moter, cruise control area.

Eh, you can do it with the separate tank, but I'd tend to think there would still be benefits from premixing as opposed to injecting 2-cycle oil. The oil is still injected at a fairly slow rate into the intake manifolds, where it has to find it's own way to mix with the air/fuel, as opposed to being well mixed & rammed through the fuel injectors (as it's designed to be used).
Premixing isn't bad at all. It's a bit rough when it's 0F outside, and I forgot to fill the bottle, but it's overall not difficult or even annoying (in my opinion).

Anybody know what it would take to adapt a S4 OMP to a S5 front cover? Reason, so the crowd running aftermarket ecus on S5's can eliminate premixing by going to a mech. OMP with external 2-stroke oil tank and not have to replace the whole front cover in the process.anybody have pics of the 2 pumps side by side?

You can swap stuff around.

Though... really, premixing is not a problem...
