I feel as though I've been slighted by a couple of folks here. Not that it makes a difference in the grand scheme of things, it does make me feel better to reply to them.
No7Yet: Please read my post. I go out of my way to play around well away from prying eyes. There are plenty of empty parking lots in the middle of the night, but most are visible to passerby's and cops. Attention is a bad thing. I might spin my tires every now and then on the road, but I doubt that I give 7 owners a bad name. Heck, most people don't even recognize 2nd gen 7's as RX-7's. They just see another small Japanese sports car. I do not street race. It gives me no pleasure to drag race.
JerryLH3: Those that care to better themselves take advice on their driving. These are the people at racing events. Most people I know never attend autoX, let alone even know what it is. They are the typical A-B drivers that know where to fill the car up and that's all. These types don't take well to constructive criticism. These types are the majority on the roads. I wish more people would go to autoX'es. I go when I can. I encourage my friends to go. I'll drive 100 miles and wake up at o'dark thirty in the morning to attend an event.

Now back to where this thread is going: Speed Channel. Why Fox network execs, why did you foresake us???

my only comment to this thread is that I can't spell or write correct grammer either, but that doesn't make me a street racer just means that english class sucked and math, phisics, and caclulus was better

oh wait one more comment. there are around 5-10 people that die a year street racing in my city. had 2 deaths a few weeks ago. wraped a bmw around a pole on a down town main street durring the middle of the night racing 2 other cars.

Wow, I guess I *am* old... after all I turn 24 next weekend...

BTW I saw many of my friends in high school wreck nice cars, and/or lose their licenses, by doing "irresponsible" things on the street. That didn't sink in until after I got my first car (high powered, heavy beast - no off-the-line and ALL top-end power) and realized, especially considering the TV-raised, hyperactive, impatient people I was forced to go to school with... giving cars to young people is like giving machine guns to monkeys...

I don't hire people that have tatoos, long hair, body and/or ear piercings nor those that can't spell or use proper grammar.

A young friend of mine just graduated from LSU with a mechanical engineering degree. He has tatoos. He's told me that he has to cover the tatoos or he feels he will not get the job.

So, sorry kids, you must conform to what us old folk want or, you'll get nowhere.

Also, if you hit and hurt me or mine, you will have to deal with me for the remainder of your life, or at least until you can finally pay off the judgement against you.

Drift into me or mine and pay. My grandson pictured below. Why would you chance hurting him?

Mike

Thanks Evan!

I care about you too, in addition to me and mine.

In the old days, we raced in a straight line with no people around. The cops didn't care much about that. It seems that they still don't.

I am no angel but, I haven't had a ticket since January of 1981. I was pulled over a few months ago because I was clocked at 124 mph! I didn't get a ticket. I guess because I was way out of town and nobody was around, except for the cop. I've had a cop tell me that he'll let me go if I let him drive. I did let him but, I was in the car.

Just do the speeding where there's not much chance of anybody else being hurt.

Mike

I liked living in Louisiana except for the bad roads and humidity. The mosquitos sucked too. Alabama isn't much better.

RarestRX asked me to post that photo.

I live in a rural area. I need the rifle to kill coons in my garbage cans and, it makes me feel more secure in case of an attempted "home invasion".

No, I'm not making a threat with the photo. RarestRX asked for it

I think this thread should be allowed to die.

Unfortunately, the rifle is a one-shot deal but, at about 50 yards, I can unload the 30 round clip in about 15 seconds and pretty much stay within a 24 inch radius.
