Talking Ok...another HP question...

Ok, how much HP do you think each of these is worth?

Bonez 2.5" Superflo system --> 3" Catback? My guess = 15HP
Racing 2.5" DP & Presilencer --> 3" Catback? My guess = 28HP

Just curious. I still think I'm gonna go w/ complete dual exhaust though --> 28% increase from Mazdatrix, which is roughly 35 to 40HP!

RB racing setup

I have a 90 GTU with the full RB setup, headers, pre-silencer, and RB mufflers. My guess is I gained 15-20 HP. Just a guess though. I did put the cats back on to reduce noise, but the difference was too much. Decided I can put up with the noise if it means 15 to 20 more HP. Hope this helps.

The 28% increase they are talking about is on a TII. The increase is due to the free flowing exhaust letting the turbo boost higher and more freely.

The results on an N/A will not be near 35rwhp. I would say more like 10-15rwhp max(if you have a free flowing intake already)

Mazdatrix.com

Yes the increase for a N/A is 28% at the rear wheels. Go to mazdatrix.com...then racing....then N/A. The steup is the complete dual all the way back from the engine.

I think he's right...that 28% increase is for an NA....they don't mention anything about a fuel cut defenser that you'd need, or anything about how it affects your boost.....Not to mention, the kit that RB sells for the T2 claims an extra 60HP and that doesnt even use headers!

Yea rotaryman

I am right, lol. I am goin to go with that setup pretty soon here along with a cold air intake system & maybe larger injectors. After I get everything i want I am going to order the autocross superchip from mdracing.com. Think I will be as happy as I can be w/o a turbo/supercharger. Peace.

You don't use headers on a turbo, period.

Turbo's Use Downpipes, not heades, the turbo is bolted on where the header would be, then a downpipe on the exhaust of the turbo charger going to a presilencer, then catback.

Racing beats system dyno's at 59 hp. Because it allows the turbo to spool up better creating more boost.

Don't expect more than 15 hp on a N/A stock rx-7. Port it and you'll get more response. Add intake and it will make your exhaust do more. But 35 rwhp... don't even expect that at all, cuz its not true.

I'm inclined to agree here. With ALL the **** I did to my FC, I doubt I gave it 30 hp total.
