Oil thickness

Wow, I'm going to feel dumber after asking this and your going to feel stupider after answering it. But which is the thickest oil, 10w 30, 10w 40, 20w 50, or 10w 50.

The higher the number the heavier the oil. The first number is vicosity when cold, 2nd hot. In this order:
20/50
10/50
10/40
10/30

All the 10W are all the same thickness cold, its the flowability at warm temps that is an issue.

The 20W50 is thicker cold, however, but the equivelent to the 10W50 when warm (just the 20W50 doesn't have all the visocity improvers and other funky additives that the 10W40 and 10W50 have).

So in the winter run 10W30, and in the summer run 20W50. That is what I do. Also, when I do my change from winter weight to summer weight (and vice-versa) I do one oil change (but not the oil filter) then after a day of driving I do another oil change and do the oil filter at this time. I do this to make sure I get all the oil out of the oil cooler as I do not like having mixed oils flowing around my engine.

Its like no smoke for piston driven engines. it looks like molasas (cant spell today). seals up piston rings real well, will probaly work well for the apex seals.

I have put some of that in there I think it clogged up my oil cooler, Because I left the drain plug off the car with the pan out from under it for about a day or so, and I came back to find that that crap was all over the garage floor. That stuff is just a little bit thinner that lithium grease.
