160°F to 200°F. 220 or more you're asking for problems.

on racingbeat's web site it says anything more than 210 could damage your engine

It depends on the location, like in the sump where it just came out of the engine vs right under the filter, where it just went through the cooler.

damn, thats no good. mine has been consistantly at 210, and i knew that wasnt good. why so high? engine has 67,512 on it, turbo is brand new, everything is correctly hooked up. Ummm Corksport oil cooler lines. Sensor is under the filter too. So what could be making this so high? Could it have anything to do with the oil cooler? Any help is greatly taken

What are your water temps like?
Elevated oil temps usually mean elevated water temps...

Ted, water temps are between 170-180, and rarely sees above 180. oil temps soar to 210-215, i think the oil cooler might be clogged or somethin, cause it stays ice cold exept where the inlet outlet are...

200 operating temps are fine. During crusing I see around 190-200 with water temps at a rock solid 180. When under stop and go in hot days, Ill see around 200-220. Again this is fine, you really only need to worry when your temps start seeing 240. As long as I have a good airflow, I have no worries. My oil cooler is mounted behind the molding on my front bumper, and the molding and some of the bumper is cut away, with ducting. So it sees plenty of airflow. Water temps will go up during sitting, but my efan drops then back easily. During any type of driving, my coolant temps never get about 190, when under some heavy boosting, they stay solid, under 200. I havent had a time to hit the track yet, but I expect no problems. I do however want to upgrade my oil cooler. FC's have good coolers, but for racing conditions they fall alittle short. They are good, but not great.

You're right.
Something is wrong.
Typically, water temps usually run higher.

It sounds like something is blocking the air flow to the oil cooler or it's clogged.

What kind of oil are you using?
Tried changing the oil brand / type?
