oil temps

wwats up wankle heads i got a question for u guys. right now i am not running a oil temp gauge and i was if this was something i needed to worrry about .i am not having any cooling(180-195) issues i was just curious.also beause of the fmic i had to reposition the oil cooler. ur input would be welcome

do you have the low pressure/oil sensor still activated or hooked up? If not that could cause a problem in the long run. Its always nice to see what kind of oil pressure you have especially when you are runin Turbo

no, right now all my factory gages are dead,all i have are boost and water temp

Then you might want to look into an aftermarket dash mounted gauge. Kinda a just to be safe thing. You dont want to find out that your engine blew because you didnt know when it needed oil.

I always worry about oil temps on a rotary. Plus you've got the added oil temp load of a turbo. I'd get something hooked up soon or even before I took any hard runs in the car.

Just a comment: I never heard of a low pressure sensor on a series four RX-7. Ain't one.

If you have one of those really large front mount intercoolers, you should install a oil temp gauge in the filter pedestal. In the summer it's easy to see 215 degrees without much of any boosting going on. Don't ever install a extra gauge in the oil pan. The figures will upset you in the summer in Texas......or Az.
