Oil Metering Pump
s4 or s5? if its an s4 it will have 2 bolts that will need to be removed in order to remove the omp from the engine block. 3 bolts if its an s5.
check out this page and look at the pics of the s4 and s5 omp block off plates. it will give you an idea of which bolts im talking about.
now, the omp is located on the passenger side of the front of the engine. youll see some plastic tubing leading down to the omp.

The pump itself bolts onto the passenger-side of the front cover. It will have an electrical plug from the harness & four plastic lines that run up to oil injectors on the top of the engine. These lines are held onto the pump by four 10mm banjo bolts. Now, depending on what the state of your engine is, you may have to remove the intake manifold & reinstall the oil injectors and reconnect the plastic lines to them as well. If the injectors and lines are still in place, your job will be much easier.
This is a picture of the oil system for an S5 turbo:http://www.rx7turbo.com/documents/89...oildiagram.pdf. You can find more diagrams in the factory service manual (FSM).
The OMP is # 3 and the oil injectors are # 6. The layout is nearly identical on an S5 NA, if that is what you have.
mine went out a few months ago because i put a S4 water pump jacket on which had clearance issues hitting the s5 omp, which in turn killed it over time.. so i went with a Rtek 1.5 ecu chip which removes the OMP instructions from the ecu , and put block off plates.
I now premix, it aint fun at all.. but its a ECU upgrade
There are 3 10mm bolts that hold the OMP on, and 4 clear oil lines that lead to the rotor housings. you should be able to just get a used OMP on ebay or something, and swap the OMP itself without having to replace the lines. Swapping it shouldnt be hard at all, you could do it during your lunch break. Its just a lil time consuming if you still ahve the radiator fan and shouding in the way. I have electric fan so i have alot of room to access and replace things like this.
