i own a 1987 white rx7 fc N/A approx 170k mi
cons: stripped interior, no AC, no power steering, sloppy gear box.
pros: suspension mod, sterio, no dent or scratch, paint in good condition,
engine seems to be runing smooth, wiper works, moon roof.etc..
i got it for 2300 please tell me i did not get rip off.

here r a list of problem on my car which i could not solve on my own.

1. everything on the cluster gauge works except for the speedometer...
2. interior light dims when i accelerate...
3. i can shift gear without my clutch...???
4. my car doesnt idle like an rotary engine, infact it doesnt idle at all
5. when i shift to 5th gear i can hear a strange noise....
6. my clock is not working.
7. my break light works fine but the reverse light does not work...
8. when i turn on the ac i hear air blowing but it not coming out of the vent
and it isnt cold.
9. i have an exhaust leak some where...

please give me as much information as possible on any of these problems

1. cable is loose either at the gauge or at the tranny
2. grounds maybe?
3. most if not all cars can do that if you match the revs right, not necessarily good for your gearbox though
4. how does it idle? if not at all, could be a vac or intake leak
5. 5th gear synchro is on its way out if the sound is a crunch
6. not many are haha, cold solder point. you have to take the idiot cluster out and re-solder the clock
7. check the bulbs
8. i dunno this one, i don't know much about the AC system
9. find out where, and fix it. it is likely a gasket somewhere.

put the car on jackstands or a hoist, start the car and block off the tail pipe with something for a second or two at a time and listen for where the exhaust is coming out.
when you block off the exit, the gases will find the path of least resistance out of the pipes, which now happens to be your leak.

8. Well your ac is removed so it won't blow cold. Your logicon might be busted where it switches which vents you want to use.

The AC system probably just needs to be serviced and recharged.

The reverse light switch on the tranny is either broken or disconnected.

he says there is no AC, so either it was removed or he has a model that didn't come with it, and by the manual rack i am thinking its a base model.

You're right, he's confused.

The first part of the post says "No AC" but then question #8 complains about lack of cold air.

Lol... I think you got ripped off. For 2300 you could have gotten a much nicer FC than one thats gutted and with all those problems.
