Oil lines

Heya,

I want to get some new oil lines made (the ones between the engine and the oil cooler). Mine are broken and fate has it, my mate helping to clean up my shed throw my broken ones away so I dont have the originals anymore to get them copied.

Does anyone know what size/type the things at the end are (sorry dont know the english name for them) and the length I will be needing for the two lines?

P.S. if someone has an address to get these lines for a good price let me know.

Check the thread in the Archives. It contains a complete parts list to creat new lines with standard AN fittings and braided stainless hose. You can purchase these fittings from any local speed shop.

Hey Aaron,

Is this the thread you mentioned about? : https://www.rx7club.com/showthread.p...ight=oil+lines

If that is still accurate info it hardly seems worth the trouble

Are the stock fittings so special that you need an adapter for each of them? Isn't it cheaper and better to get the same fittings as are stock and have them attached to a fresh oil line?

That's the thread. The adapters required are simple metric to AN adapters. Mazdatrix sells them, but then so do all the hose people (Russel, Earls, Aeroquip, etc.).

You can of course have a local hydraulic shop put new hose on your factory ends, but that's less fancy. Mine have been set up like that for years, but I'm converting everything to AN so I'm ditching those lines (and they started to leak).

It's surprising to me how much a couple of short little lines like this can cost!

I should point out that the total cost in that old thread of $180 is higher then the price of the Mazdatrix direct-replacement braided lines (p/n 4993) at $155.

Princess Auto up here in Canada makes hydraulic lines to spec - I should get a quote.

I just had some hydraulic lines made up in Calgary for $65. The metric to AN adapters cost the most.

If you have A/C make sure you get a 22.5 or a 45deg fitting for the front cover or you will be cutting some of the bracket to get the lines to fit (ask me how i know. lol)

Well I had airco so I guess I'll run into that so thanks for the warning

I'm thinking more and more about just ordering the mazdatrix lines unless a shop over here can deliver new metric end.. That seems to be the only way to really save some cash...
