Do you see the oil filter on the right? I imagine if you can't find a relocation block you could have one made or even machine it yourself. It may not be as pretty as a pro job, but I'm sure someone could make one in their garage that would last just as long.

Faster to change I assume. It might also be to help with a dry sump kit, too. It would be especially useful for endurance racing, and for those times when something goes wrong.

apparently my post didnt actually post.

Most of the big rotary names carry a kit. Atkins, RB, maybe even mazdatrix as well

not only that, you dont pour oil all over yourself in the process.

Using a larger oil filter is HIGHLY benificial.

I've never had that issue with the OEM filter location.

That works! I wonder if there is a larger oil filter that fits on the OEM location?

I like the stock location. It's easy to get to. I could understand relocating it if it were somewhere like on the SR20, but on a 13b it's staring you right in the face. As for filters, I only use OEM and haven't had any issues with them.

I've found several different sizes at the parts store that all fit. There's short small diameter ones, taller small diameter ones and medium height small diameter ones. You can just put them end to end to see if the o-ring is the right size. I always go for the bigger one.

Some of those filters are on their sides, I'd mount it so that it's vertical, to minimize spillage.

One trick that really helps with the stock filter, punch some holes in the top of the filter while draining the oil, it'll help minimize the spillage when you unscrew it.

in the picture, what do you have the other line running to? you dont just have a loop from the pedestal to the filter and back? and how much would those plates cost? i can do the rest myself.

good tip black91.

from what i understand, the smaller filters actaully stop filtering, and bypass the filter, at a certain load/pressure. So when you are at your fastest, driving the hardest, your oil filter does nothing.

One line from the cooler, the other to the motor. That location IS my new pedastal

ONE line goes from the cooler to the filter. the other goes to the motor (then splits).
On the passenger side, another line goes from the the bottom of the motor to the oil cooler. (not pictured)

The thin line in the first pic, goes to the catch can.

Detail of my catch can line, from the oil filler neck. NO more elbow on my system.

Again, the thin line is to the catch can. The thick lines are coming from the oil filter.

From the oil cooler on the driver side... going to the filter.

This one is before the system was finished.

Where are you plumbing it into the motor from the filter? Into the stock location and into the old oil filter area? Why not just into the stock location?

It is JUST the stock location. there are also some oil mods done (thus the split in the line going to the motor)

The line that you see going to the oil filler neck, is going to the catch can. It DOES NOT run from the oil filter. It is just a line from the oil filler neck to the catch can.
