Ok I know how oil is a bigg issue with RX7s. But when checking the oil what am I looking for? The oil level looks fine but it looks thinner? Is this an issue or normal. Plus what should my oil pressure be? I need help or some huge tips on keeping my 7 top notch. If yall have any tips on anything let me know. Thanks Guys!!!!!

Does it smell like gas? High mileage? Might be an oil control ring going out...

Oil pressure should be around 30psi idle and 60+ under load.

oil control ring? Is that a motor overhaul or something that I can replace easily? what about my oil pressure if I let off the gas it drops under 30 but the pressure is at 30 plus but never near 60+ not even when Im at full boost

Not good. And yes.. engine rebuild time is what it sounds like. Might want to wait for somebody smarter than me (practically anybody) to chime in for confirmation. Lots of people here think I'm retarded.. You should too.

I didnt think that rotarys had oil control rings dont they have apex seals? Is the oil control ring located on the e-shaft or something?

They have two oil control rings on each side of the rotor... then 3 side seals on each side, and 3 corner seals on each side.. then one apex seal per corner...

The oil control rings seal the inner oil passage (around the e-shaft and such) away from the combustion gasses with the help of the side seals... when they go out, oil gets into the combustion chamber and gas gets into the oil...

More frequent oil changes would be a good idea.... but you should confirm that it smells like gas first. Also.... you should wait for some smarter people.
