i get an odd clunk/knock noise from the rear passenger side of the car when turning around 25-30 mph and decellerating/acellerating ar lower speeds.
it doesnt do it all the time, just on occasion. its been doing for a year or so, and i have checked out most all i can and dont see any issues or obvious problems, any ideas guys?

possibly a loose suspension piece, or maybe LSD noise.

What would cause these to break?

Does it happen when you go over bumps as well??

in that case...

Rear Camber Links.

taken directly from mazdatrix
"This (two per car) link goes on the rear control arm, forward, inboard end/pivot. When they go bad, you get an minor, irritating "clunking" from the rear when going over bumps. They seem to wear out most often on convertibles -- must just be the extra weight in the rear?"

well these stock mounts are made of rubber....and our cars are now in the 20-25 year old range....and you know we all like to drive hard!...i installed a mazdatrix mount in my old s4 na....it was a beech..but mazdatrix said it was a stiffer more durable unit then the stocker...but in anycase....go under your vehicle and start shakin stuff...push up on your driveshaft near your diff to check the upper diff mount...look for any worn suspension parts or torn joints...

20 yr old rubber mounts + rx7 driver/drifter/racer= broken diff mounts lol

Sounds exactly like my room mate's 88 S4...

Im pretty sure its the differential mount but I have yet to get under there and look.

His car also produces this sound when driving a little spirited and going from 1st to 2nd a little rough.
