o2 sensor

I have a stock tune on my Tii my narrowband a/f gauge is showing rich with the ignition on, when I turn the engine on it shows rich. It seems to run fine other than this. I also fiddled with the a/f adjustment to see if i was running too rich. my o2 is good as gone right?

read your own sig.

you pulled out the air pump, of course it's reading rich at idle.

A narrowband gauge is essentially just a light show, but for what it's worth, you should be rich at idle if the air pump is gone (just like arghx said).

never trust a narrowband gauge for a tuning device even if it is just for out of high load situations. your wiring is 20+ years old and the sensor may be just as old.

Ever since I bought the car It was working fine.. it would sit at lean, climb to rich as i got into boost. and on cruise it would sweep back and forth. now that I re-attatched some vacuum lines that had come off "i dont know when" now it sits at rich at idle and pretty much stays there

You can test the 02 sensor output with a voltmeter too. If it's old, just replace it anyway. A new one is about $20.

I already have emissions removed. but my car still has some of those "plugged" vacuum liines installed. does that mean all the ones that are supposed to be plugged i can rip out? it doesnt look like it...

Arghx why would not having the air pump hooked up make the car idle rich? Does it pump unmetered air into the car while idling?
