Godspeed/Ebay FMIC, question about BOV and BAC

For those of you out there that have this FMIC setup, how does the BOV and BAC hook up? From the pictures on ebay it appears that I will need to weld in a flange for the BOV. Is the piping aluminum or coated steel? Also, I didn't see a port to connect to the BAC valve. Did you guys weld in a small section of pipe, or just remove the BAC completely. I have the block off plate and I am aware that my idle may suck if I choose to do so.

dude you can get a pipe wit the flange already welded in...
i personally would go for a diverter valve since it helps wit lag time

You will have to weld in a barb for the bac somewhere. It's 5/8" iirc. Unless you have a standalone

I saw that those are available. The only problem I see with those is that you have to add 2 more couplers, which then have a possibility of leaking. I have the HKS SQV3 already, and would like to keep it. By diverter valve, do you mean to recirculate the BOV air back into the intake?

Thanks, just the info I needed. Do either of you know if these kits are steel or aluminum?

He does. Dont bother with recirc. Just vent. Pffffffft turbo lag...... This is a rotory. Not some piece of **** vw or dsm.

The kits are cast aluminum but you can get steel weld on flanges.

For the 5/8's barb (and it is 5/8") you could get a lenth of tubing and just weld it on wherever. I threw my bac valve in a box of parts and will not be using it..... Lumpy idle sounds cool.

blowoff valves don't help spool, that's all in your head. When recirculated they do prevent driveability complications on cars with airflow meters though. I've been running no blowoff valve for a couple years, since I ditched the AFM.

^ how do you safely run a turbo set up with no BOV?
Also, can you do so while maintaining the AFM?

if you have ball bearing turbos or a turbo that has a strong shaft, you dont really need to run a BOV.
Unless you really want that safety margin.

Well I bought the exact same kit but I also bought the generic BOV with T flange. I am not concerned with the leaking from the coupler because if one coupler leaked they all would. I am going to try to mount mine where two pipes meet and then just cut off the end a little. Because it is aluminum I dont want to try to weld aluminum because I have done zero welding !

I will try to take some pics when I do mine. If the MODs dont kill my thread again I will have a write up so all noobs can follow. Hope I dont **** them off again

You can do anything you want! If you think about what the turbo does and how it does it you can run a turbo with no BOV but you are putting a little more stress on it. If you think about it a turbo is spinning at a million miles an hour and it is a marvelous combination of technology and magic, so it is very strong. I like the BOV sound so I am going to have one and I like the little safety it provides.

OTOH you have to remember the engine is expecting that extra air and when the BOV dumps it the motor will sputter. Not that big of a deal but some hate it.

I just got this FMIC.

I chopped off the stock bov pipe on the piping and took it to a shop to weld an aluminum flange on for my BOV. As for the BAC, Im not running one.

The piping is all aluminum, even the TB elbow that comes with it, I think...
