just 1 little wire, and I guess it grounds through the exhaust.

And that is a significant statement about the ground thru the exaust. I've got a damn good installation on my turboii exaust (except for no ground wire going to it) and I swear if I put a meter on the downpipe and use the battery ground for the meter ground, that the reading is out there in outer space. You'd a thought the three attach bolts to the turbo would give a good solid ground. Nope.

Lesson: ground the exaust pipe to chassis. And by the way, the heat shield just a few inches away gives a reading of 0.02 ohms with the same setup as described above. Just FYI.

A bad ground circuit will give you and your ECU erroneous readings. That's on a stock 02 sensor. A aftermarket wide band does not depend on the exaust being grounded. It has its own ground circuit incorporated into its circuit. Some widebands like the TechEdge 1.5 version, * http://techedge.com.au/vehicle/wbo2/register.htm *, have simulated narrow band output for the ECU. Just rambling. http://www.techedge.com.au/vehicle/wbo2/1v5/default.htm

I still need to ground mine and it's running really rich, I was thinking that may be the culprit but was like nah, its grounded through the turbo. I just put the new RB full on there, but the ground strap wire connector was welded to the 87 original exhaust so I cut it. THink the other end of it is good or should I just run a new ground somehwere and will the exhaust melt insulation on common car audio wire?
