Just did it myself 10 minutes ago! I feel your pain! I couldn't get anything on the nut, but I was able to get a set of vice-grips on the top of it, coming in from the firewall side. I then had no torque, of course, so I stuck a large screwdriver in an open area in the vice-grips and used it to turn the vice-grips a bit. It then came loose easily (HUGE sigh of relief!). Good luck!

Start the car and heat up up good and hot. Then pop on your O2 socket, if you need to, use a few extentions and a impact gun.

I must ditto the above. Get car warm and use the O2 socket. You can break it loose, then if you want, remove it when cool. Works like a charm.

It took me a couple of tries, they are right though, its worth buying the special socket to fit around the o2 sensor itself, it may also take you a few different extensions that have wobble arms on them so that you can get the right angle on it to really wrench it off of there. Good luck. O one last thing, when you put that new one on, make sure you put lots of anti-sieze on it so you can get it off easily in the future.
