O-ring and gasket kit question

I just have to know

why is a turbo kit $200 more than an NA one?

Seriously, what in it is that much more expensive.

the exhaust gaskets, yes they are that expensive and it is likely you probably don't need all of them but you will need the LIM and UIM gaskets as well as the turbo's coolant and oil tube gaskets.

I have a perfectly good exhaust manifold gasket. Is that really what is a big hunk of that $200? I wonder if I could get it cheaper without that.

there is more than 1 turbo gasket, the block to turbo gasket is sturdier than the n/a gasket as it needs to be for turbo applications then there is the manifold to turbo gasket and the downpipe gasket all of which are close to $150 and then there is the other misc gaskets i referred to.

My exhaust manifold gasket is good still, so is the manifold to turbo gasket, exhaust gasket is shot however.

I dont see how any of that could come anywhere near that price though, god $150 for 3 gaskets?

WTF are you bitching for?
This stuff is made in Japan and imported into the USA.
On top of that, duties and taxes are slapped on it, cause it's imported parts.
OF COURSE IT'S GOING TO BE EXPENSIVE.

If you don't like the price, don't pay for it.

yep, all the turbo gasket applications are VERY expensive, just be thankful you don't have an FD or you would be looking at over $200 just for exhaust gaskets alone...replace the ones you need that are blown out if you are that concerned about price rather than whining about the price, we don't make the gaskets nor do we set the price on them. the turbo exhaust gaskets must be very expensive to manufacture since all the other gaskets/seals are very reasonably priced.
