Not getting spark

I will try to keep this short but detailed if thats posable. I need some help. My problem is that im getting half as many sparks out of the leading L2 coil than the leading L1 coil. And the kicker is when I rev the motor past 2 grand it seem to cut out completely. I have done the following.
1. Replaced plugs and wires
2. Switched the wires from L2 to L1 and the L2
still had half the spark.
3. Temporally replaced the coils with a freinds.
Still no change.
4. I upgraded the ground.
5. Checked the coils with a ohm meter.
check out fine.
If you are wonder my method of testing,it is with a timeing light. I talk with a friend who owns a shop and he says that the leading coil recieve one signal and that it is split up in the coil to L1 and L2. He said because they both fire at the same time. But what I dont understand is if it recives only one signal, than how does one of them work but not the other. Though all the things I did, I belive that I narrowed it down to something before the coil. Please help! Im at a dead end! oh by the way i almost forgot, Its a 87 Turbo 2.

Check the resistan or the continuty of the crank signal

Check the resistan or the continuty of the crank signal wire. I have not work on an rotory engine before. But i know the timing or firing signal is running off of the crank sensor. I would check the wire from the ecu to the coil pack. Since if one of the coil is getting a signal then there maybe a lose or broken conection between the ecu and the coil. Again i don't have the manuel so i don't know how they run the wire or where it is.

No problem. Both plugs are firing at the same rate. Its just a characteristic of the DIS that you really need to reverse the timing light clamp on the wire that shows to be firing at half the rate of the other. There is a factory service bulletin that addresses this.

I WAS JUST THINKING

I was just thinking did you check your tps?? The tps could be broken or have a break in it causing it to cut out after a certin rpm. Does it come back after 2grand??

Its not the method. The motor jidders which lead me to check if im getting spark. I know what your talking about. With the timeing light, I searched the site befor posting and I read about using a Timeing Light right. Ive already replaced the TPS and they set. Thanks for the replys. If you think of anything else please let me know
