Nos??
Hey I have an 88 N/a & was thinkin of NOS as an option. I have no experience with it so I just want to know everything. Like I know if u use too much it will mess ur engine up. I was wondering how long it would last, & how much it costs. Like to refill or whatever. Any dos & don't I should know. I just wanna be able to put it on em when people try me, lol. Everyone please let me know any & all info. Thanks.

I have installed both the wet and dry versions of NOS in FC's. I recommend the wet system unless you are a good tuner. The wet system injects fuel with your NOS so that you don't run lean as easily as with a dry system. The wet system costs around $400 from either Summit or Jegs. It is a complete system with everything you need to install it other than basic hand tools. It takes about 4 hrs to install a wet kit.
Key things to installing NOS to your FC. Make sure your motor is in good running condition. Get a compression check to make sure your motor is capable of running it without blowing it up. It is cheap insurance for mods like this. NOS usually costs between $2-$4 for a refill at most rice shops or muscle car shops. The bottles are typically 10lb so they cost about $20-$40 to fill. With the basic wet system described on our site, you can get alot of NOS time with that bottle due to the fact that it is only a 50 shot of NOS. Read the writeup before you start the install, and feel free to ask me anything on it.

Hey fc3s.org, what about tuning the system? Like swapping the N2O and Fuel jets to get the proper mixture? Do you have to do that? How do you know the mixture is right?
Also, which dry system did you use? If you go to NOS website they have a "import kit" and a special kit number for the RX-7 (also includes a couple other Mazdas). Did you use that kit or a different one? Also, on the site you said that you have to keep from going full throttle until 4,000 rpm. Is it possible to hook up an RPM switch, so that it is fully automated? (I don't see any reason why one couldn't)

Btw, i'm thinking about getting the nos system for my car as well. I'd go with the wet system because I want to use it as little as possible, so it could last be quite a while.

Another question
Do you need any other parts besides the NOS kit they have? Know any websites for it? I know I want the switch for my steering wheel, I also heard of a bottle heater, what all accessories are there? Like do I need any kind of boot gauge ect? Thanks again.

I don't recommend a bottle heater. You are not at the stage of racing to need one, and if you leave it on and forget it, your car will explode. You can get a NOS pressure gauge, but I just got one and put it on the bottle, because you have to use SS braided lines for the gauge to come into your cockpit area. Kinda pricy.
