Are the specs for all years 2nd gen the same?

Abslolutely not, there is a link to the performance specs. I dont have it handy, but I am sure someone else has it...

Edit: The biggest difference is the S4 and S5 motors. 86-88 has the S4s that have lower HPs then the S5s.

but the s4 weighed less than the s5... so there's more than just hp to take into effect

Yes, but the S4 (87-88) also has less weight than an S5 (89-92).

There was another link that someone posted not too long ago. Wish I could remember where it was.. I believe that the S5s were posting better 1/4 times in STOCK form. I could be wrong. I cant find that link.

S5 was 2845 lbs, the S5 was 3003lbs HOWEVER, the S4 1/4 was 15.3 and the S5 was 15.1

I found it...see the post before yours.

Edit: Wow! Thats a good link though..May have to remember that one. The 1/4 mile times for my 94 Silverado werent there though...
