mild streetports usually top off at around 180 for S4s.

It's very hard to make the 200 on stock manifold, stock ecu, even in an S5. Highest was Kahren's 195 whp run. A little more doable if you can go aftermarket on either of the two mentioned before.

The engine was built by Petit Racing and uses 2 TWM40 mm throttle bodies and a Haltec F3 ECU. They also show photos of the ports that Petit used.
200 flywheel? or 200 wheel?

Do you have a GXL or some other car with the trim level GLX?

They cost more than the car itself!

that was back in 1995. A turbo2 manifold, a standalone, and a good tune should get you there.

I really need to dyno mine so I can say what my performance 'set up' puts down.

also get rid of all parasitic loss if you can (ac, air pump, ps - if you have it)

The power steering is the only thing that really puts any REAL load on the system... Throw in a manual rack... if you aren't in a parking lot, you almost never notice.

AC/Air pump (assuming AC is off and freewheeling) is like 2-3hp draw... I'm not worried about that. The REAL benefit of removing them is weight loss... Secondary benefit is de cluttering the engine bay.

my engine bay looked so basic and easy to work on. I eliminated everything and didnt look back. If something was wrong with my car, I was able to figure it out and fix it with no problem.

Woo-hoo! I'm at 170 whp on a stock port engine, with Power Steering! Sweetness.

I promise, you will see along with every other person who doughts me. Just because im new to this forum doesnt mean that i dont know ****. Ive been doing my own work every since i brought my car 3 years ago including rebuilding the engine, unlike half the people who talk **** about what can and cant be done and probably never touched a wrench before. Like I said I promise you will see.

Oh yeah, I hope i get the noob of the month award.

O.K. forgive me for skipping some posts, but I didn't see it discussed. I have a question, which is not extremely related, but this thread has a good audience who will know.

Not looking for 200whp here - but will an RTEK help me get the most out of a streetport, everything else being the same, including injectors, factory intake setup including AFM, but aftermarket headder and exhaust? A stand-alone is too much for my budget.

yes. The 2.0 adjusts fuel and timing. Having a wideband would help you as well. I have a 2.0 in my 170 whp stockport w/ ps car.

In reading through the articles, they did not say whether the HP rating was flywheel or rear wheel, but that should be remedied in a few months. It will go on the dyno in a chassis. I am impressed with the size of the ports but am puzzled by the finish of the insides of them.....should do some more research on those.

At the time, the throttle bodies weren't all that expensive. I guess they are a bit more expensive now. The article quoted them at $240 each, the fuel rail at $130, and an ITG air filter system with air horns for $220. They mounted them on a Weber manifold.

Another thing I have considered is trying a couple of the Mikuni PH44's on this engine. I have a triple setup for the Z sitting on the shelf. It would be interesting to see what the difference would be. All in due time............

twn does nothing better then a stock tb from an fc, 3 smaller throttle bodies are the same as 2 bigger ones. i woudl rather have 3 throttle bodies as they can be split up better between the ports on a rotary. so really you are paying money for nothing, the thing thats not so good on the other hand is the stock intake manifold, thats where twn gain mor epower, not because of the tb, but beacuse you of the better manifolds bolted to the engine when using the twm or something of that sort

why people think an aftermaket thorttle body will add more power is beyond my comprehension

I need some help from someone with an S4 running a Rtek. Thinking of going that way, but my friend wants to build a Megasqurit for it.
