No O2 Sensor?

Can you drive around without an O2 sensor hooked up?

Yes, I did so for a very long time with stock ECU, no issues were noticed and MPG was still fine.

Other than a very small increase in fuel consumption it will make no difference. The more time you spend at highway speeds the greater the effect will be.

Ive been doing it since Thanksgiving time. Highway milage is pretty poor, around 20-22, and city is terrible. Every time I see my CEL come on, I know why and it reminds me how Im wasting gas. I really need to get this shielded wire in so I can rewire my sensor.

I dunno, I got ~18mpg city driving daily to college. Didn't seem to make much of a difference on my car with my driving habits.

Yah it was n/a, ported motor and bunch of crap, though.

However my car was very lightened too, so that helped. I dunno maybe I got lucky or something.

That has nothing to do with the O2 sensor. Your car has other issues...

If you have fuel control to go with those bigger injectors and have had it properly tuned, mileage should be better than stock. If you have no fuel control then what the hell do you expect? An O2 sensor certainly isn't going to help you.

I see no problems with my car other than it needs to be tuned. Why else would I be getting 12-14mpg around town?

wouldn't having no O2 sensor be an exhaust leak?

Right, so like I said your problem has nothing to do with the O2 sensor not working.
