No compression?
No compression?
I've searched around here and couldn't find any problems that sound like mine. Mines a 87' na with only 78k on it and was driving perfect the day before but when i went to crank it last saturday it wouldn't crank and sounded like it had no compression, like the starter was freespining the motor. What could be the problem, i checked to see if it was getting spark and a flame came out of the spark plug hole when i turned it over to check for spark so i assume its getting fuel as well, any suggestions?
Flooded. See that long vacuum line that goes from the manifold to the little black pressure sensor mounted in front of the passenger side strut mount? Disconnect the hose at the sensor, and dip it in a bottle of engine oil or ATF. Remove the fuse labeled EGI (on the driver's side in front of the strut mount). Try to start the engine for approximately 30 seconds, wait a couple minutes, and repeat. Do this a few times. Replace the hose and fuse, and start the car in a WELL VENTILATED AREA.
