Nix the rex

After fighting long and hard with the parents to get a second gen. They are just to stuborn to understand that the rx-7 is not only safe and reliable but whateber. I have had my license for what seems forever and still no car. So i'm giving up and I'm gonna change my search. I'm thinking about getting a **** hole car and a motorcycle. I'll have that mindset until they ruin my hopes for that combo. Well any way this is basically an informal goodbye. I will be back though. Browsing around, and whatnot. I still hope to get one eventually.

They'd let you get a motorcycle but not a 7? That's messed up.

If you can pay for the car and the insurance they really don't have a say in the matter. You can get insurance on your own.

They probably won't let me get the bike and **** car for foul weather. But i'll try to persuade, failed with the 7 but who knows. I used to be able to drive my sisters car around, cuz she wasn't allowed to drive because she had surgery. Well now i'm carless and the only thing left to drive is a 88 volkswagon cabriolet. (insert smiley face shooting self in head here).

If you're under 18, get a pos and bide your time. If you're 18 or older, get a rex and forget what your folks say. Keep saving, and you'll be able to get RX8 TII when they're released, or better yet, a new RX7 when we convince mazda that a sports car only has two seats.

ARE YOU A MAN OR A MOUSE? DO NOT allow your parents to exclude a car from you. Buy the damn thing if it's your money!! They will respect your decision making capabilities when you e-brake a 180 in the driveway.

You should buy a cheap economy car (something they think is safe) then shoehorn a big block in it just to show 'em.

You're guaranteed to drop your bike, and there's a good chance that if you've got anything faster than an '85 camry you'll wreck it. Insurance companies rape kids (in rates) for a reason. Statistics show that we (i'm 18) 17-25 have the highest chances of accidents. Buy a shitty car, beat on it, learn to drive and control it in all situations and while doing that save up for the 7 when you move out. You'll be better off that way.

Yup.

You'll drop a bike at least once gauranteed.

My friend got his a few weeks ago, and dropped it about 20 minutes after starting it up for the first time.

As much as Im sure you hate to hear it, he has a very good point. My first car was an 83 Dodge Mirada with a 4 barrel 318 ci! i drove the **** out of that thing, everywhere I went the *** end was trying to pass the front. My next car was an 84 GSLSE that I bought...after learning to drive the Mirada at high speeds and through corners and what not...no one could keep up once I got the RX7 that ACTUALLY handled. But a beater and save some cash, itll be worth it in the long run. Not only that but youll need a second car!

EDIT: I just noticed that it sounds like I owned these cars in '83/'84...I didnt. when I got them they were 10 years old, I turned 16 in 1993, thats when i got the Mirada, The GSLSE in '94, and about 20 cars since then!

Well the deal was i'd pay for the car, everythign about it, maintance the works. And they'd pick up on the insurance. However they basically led me on for a while saying they didn't car what car but now they turned real cheap and its really gay. Any ways if i do buy the car or any car for that matter i wouldn't be able to pay for it all, meaning maintanence and insurances being i live in jersey. Well just pray for me that they change their ways.
