Angry Newbie, need some help

Hey everyone. Glad to be a part of the site. I have auestion concerning an 86 RX-7 that I recently acquired. The car was driving no problem last week. It was low on fuel when I parked it and I didn't drive it for a few days. I went out to start it and it wouldn't kick over, so I figured that there was not enough fuel to start it. In my haste, i left the interior light on. Returned to the car, with gas and as I attempted to start it, it seems like the starter was turning but not engaging the flywheel. I honestly don't know squat about these cars so any info would be greatly appreciated.

take out the egi fuse from under the hood. crank it over with the accelerator too the floor for about 15-2o seconds and replace the fuse crank it over again n it should start if not try it a couple more times it might just be flooded

Hey thanks a lot. I'll give it a shot. This is my first true "import" so I'm sure I'll have a lot more questions.

you make it sound like when you're cranking, the engine is not turning over? if so, that has nothing to do with flooding. is the starter engaging or not?

You said that it sounded like the starter was not engaging... Is it?

Pulling the fuse is assuming that you flooded the engine and you have lost compression....
However if the starter is not throwing up the bendix gear...then you have something else.

Can you clearify your problem? Is the engine turning over but just not starting because it does not have compression?
