No prob.
Better safe than sorry.
I know it's an optima so gases won't leak but are you planning on passing a tech inspection for racing? Some like NHTSA require a externally vented plastic or metal box even if it is a sealed battery. It would be up to the tech guy if they allowed you through.

I have a battery box on the way. As far ad the curcuit isolator it is going to be used for the Haltek, boost controller, efan, and my wideband for right now. It has four constants and three switched power supplies. All of them are run through 20amp fuses.

I ordered one last night just in case. I have never run one before, but for $11 shipped why not.

looks good man. I think I will see just about everything if I see a 60-1 get an rx7 into the low 11 to 10 sec area. As for soldering what are you soldering? I rarely solder anything. I've found those splices with the heat shrink tubing already on them are some of the best things to get and are very durable! Hope that clutch isn't too bad cause it's the same setup I'm using with my hbp t70 setup.

Give it a few months and you will hopefully get to say that you've seen it all then.

Well, today I pulled out the power cables. Then cut it and soldered new lugs on for the 200amp breaker and then I wrapped the whole thing with looming and electrical tape. Steve worked on the jacked up Haltek harness today getting all of the half-assed stuff fixed. He got it all in order and looking great!
I also hacked on my front bumper to allow clearance and better flow for my intercooler. There is still a lot of fine sanding and shaping on the bumper to get it to where I am happy, but it is moving forward though.
I am going to install the cucuit isolator tomorrow.

Well. after a weekend of working on my car I am proud to say that I am going to be installing the Haltek this week.
I got it all back together last night and it was not turning the fuel pump on. I messed with it a little last night. I swapped the AFM out, but still no dice. I jumpered the set coupler and the fuel pump came on, so that takes the pump and the afm out of the picture. Then today Steve reminded me that i have a Haltek E6K sitting on the floor in my parts room. So, today when I got home I took out a little frustration on the brittle harness!
E6k here I come! lol
P.S. I need a base map for my current setup. oops

You shoud try and get an FD alternator. The S4 one is like night and day vs the FD.
With bass hits from songs I would see my volt needle dropping towards 12-13 but the FD just sits pretty at 13.5+ even with hard hitting songs.
Soooo. Watcha doin with that hacked harness
