New RE Steering Wheel

Hi, I've just purchased a RE steering wheel for my 1988 FC3S,
I tried installing it myself but I couldn't
I have unscrewed the three screws at the back of the stock wheel,
Then pulled out the honk connection.
After that I unscrewed the bolt in the center.
After that I'm lost.
I don't know how to remove the stock steering wheel...

Please can anyone help me?
Thanks in advance.

Alex

just some gentle persuasion with a hammer

wobble it, wiggle it, PB blaster it

it'll eventually work free

Loosen the nut but DON"T remove it.
Wiggle/pull/persuade the steering wheel to move.
Now remove the nut and the wheel.

When installing the new wheel/hub make sure it engages properly with the turn signal canceling nubs.

Steering wheel pullers are effortless devices. Cheap and handy too. The right tool for the job makes things that much easier. Go buy one.

well when i removed my first steering wheel, i was stupid and didnt leave the nut on partially, and when it "poped" free, it nailed me right in the nose, that sucked..LOL

if you go to autozone, they will rent you the tool, and give you the oiption to buy the tool you rent too. make life a lot easier..

Thanks a lot!

I gave it a couple of uppercuts, then gave it a couple of gentle wobble, then tried reasoning with it. Somehow the more I try, the harder it gets.... But then I guess when I was about to give up, it "clicked" and it came right off.

Phhhh..... woman... lol
just kidding.
