New Problem...

So I got my acv block off plates made from steel, and I didn't have a gasket so I just put high temperature RTV all the way around the acv and put the block off plate over. Now, the block off plate is not the best plate in the world, and I think it is the problem. When I start the car, it goes up to 3000RPM... then slowly drops and dies. There is a whistling noise coming from the ACV area. Could the bad block off plate be the problem?

any reason steel??? It just expands and contracts differently than aluminum (which the manifold is made of).

Yeah I wouldn't hesitate to say it's not seating properly.

And it would expand/contract just enough to create a leak should the plate be poorly constructed..

Ok so lets say it is leaking...... Could that cause enough of a leak to stall the car like this?
